I have been learning a lot of stuff during the past few years through my pursue of becoming successful in life. The most important thing is that you must feel the success in yourself as success itself can means a lot of stuff in terms of health, monetary rewards, relationship and many many more.

You may have heard from a lot of successful people that reading personal development book aka self-help books help in their progress towards being successful in life. Personally, I totally agreed with this above statement as my journey to success started through reading books.

Recently, I have read one of my mentor blog post on The Power of Daily Incremental. The blog post is about spending 15-20 minutes of your time daily to read books that can help to improve yourself and it only takes 1 percent of your day. After reading and watching the video in the blog post, it sparks my mind as it talks about learning through reading books from your neighborhood library. I am going to share with you what I have learned from the often visits of my local library.

Learning Faith from Facing the Giants Movie

Posted by JavierChua in

Recently, I have watched this movie called Facing the Giants which is recommended by one of my mentors to be persistent with ourselves in order to succeed in what we want to achieve in our life. From this movie, I realized that we should not under-estimate our own limits as our own belief system is the real thing that is stopping ourselves from reaching our full potentials.

Watch the youtube video below and you will understand what I mean:

It is very important that we must have faith in ourselves or towards some higher power that we will achieve what we are seeking in our lives. The most important thing that I have realized from reading most self-help books is that we must have imagination. When the mind has a thought for something, ideas will be generated and we are slowly attracted to the thing we want in our lives. However, we must really take the right actions to get to the end results that we desired.

Anyway, you can catch the full movie on youtube as someone has uploaded it there and I really appreciate the uploader.

Here the youtube link to Facing the Giants full movie:

Cheers

Javier

P.S. Share with me what you have learnt after watching the movie Facing the Giants. Enjoy the movie like what I did 🙂

Just Give It a Try Method

Posted by JavierChua in

just_give_it_a_try

During one of my previous posts, I shared with everyone a site where you can trade books with other people around the world. I have actually been using the site for a couple of years but I am always reluctant to trade my books to other people from other countries until recently. I always have this personal belief that the cost of postage fees for sending a book overseas will be very costly and not worth the points for me to claim a book through the site. Therefore, this limiting belief makes me thinks that buying a book locally is more cost effective than sending a book overseas.

However, after attending Tony Robbins Unleash The Power Within Seminar in Singapore, I realized that this limiting beliefs of money issue have stopped me from trying a lots of things that I have not tried before. The main purpose of the site bookmooch.com is to allow people from all over the world to share books around and I have managed to get a few books from other countries. I felt that it was quite bad of me not to send books to other people who requested from other countries. Therefore, I decided to try sending a book that I felt that its meaningful (Rich Dad Poor Dad) to anyone from any country who requested from me. In the end, a lady from United Kingdom requested the book and I went ahead to find out how to post the book to her.

The process of trying to send a book overseas really opens up my mindset about my limiting beliefs about money issues as I realized that the cost of sending a book overseas is not what I have expected. Initially, I felt that the cost of sending a book overseas may be more expensive than buying a book. However, after my first time experiences of “Just Give It a Try” method, I realized that this is something that I will continue to do in future as now I can share my books with everyone from all over the world.

Do you have any limiting beliefs that keep on popping up in your mind whether to do it or not? I will suggest you used my “Just Give It a Try” method and if you do not feel good after trying it out, just drop the idea and move on to the next one. You will definitely gain something meaningful out from the process of trying out the stuff that you have not tried before. Do not let your limiting beliefs or other people’s comments stop you from giving anything a try as you will never know what results will come out until you actually experience it yourself.

Building My Belief System Through Running

Posted by JavierChua in

build_my_belief_system

Recently, I have re-started my running schedule after recovering from some common flu and cough. I have set a schedule to run 2 times a week on every wednesday and sunday night. The results of the running was quite cool as it made me feel more energetic compared to those days that I was ill. I have set a target for myself to increase 1 more round per week until I am able to build my stamina to actually run a marathon in the near future. The effect of adding 1 more round per week is actually quite uneasy for myself in the first place as I felt that I have a limiting belief that I will feel tired after running 6 rounds in the park which is equivalent to 2.4KM (IPPT Running Standard). However, I told myself that I must conquer my mind to achieve something for myself which I can be proud of.

Currently, I have reached the 8 rounds around the park schedule which is equivalent to about 3KM. I realized that I have to rebuild my body and belief system for myself as I felt that completing 3KM is so tiring now compared to my army days where 3KM run was a common thing to everyone in the camp as we did it every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I have to find back that energy level that I have during my army days in order to strive for what I what to achieve in my life.

Through running, I have learned something that we can fight directly which is the little voice in our head. When I am running, I realized that the little voice in my head will tell me to stop myself to rest for a while and I will feel that your legs starts to feel tired and hurting. However, I just keep on running and think about the financial freedom that I want to achieve. This really boost my energy level to keep me going for another round until I reach the target number of rounds that I should achieve for that particular week.

I will update more about building my belief through running again once I manage to reach that stage where I can take part in a marathon.

Cheers

Japanese Manga Comics Builds The Belief System

Posted by JavierChua in

Are you a comics lover? Even if you are not a comics lover, you may have heard or seen before a japanese manga comics. I’m actually a japanese animation lover and recently, I start to read about japanese manga comics because I wanted to find out about the story of the comics in advance. Normally, an animation is based on the comics itself unless the producer wants to make any adjustment to the storyline by cutting short on the animation.

In the world of comics, the artists can draw whatever storyline that he or she wants to happen as everything is based on the imagination of the artists. The sky is the limit and any character in the comics can get through tons of hardship and misery to achieve great rewards through years of persistence. The reason why I start to love to read japanese manga is because I can feel the persistence of the character and the energy level towards reaching their goals or mission in life. There is always a personal self belief in the main character of certain character that gives life towards the comics and this normally makes it a great comics for people to read about.

Personally, I love to read a few comics like Naruto, Captain Tsubasa and a few inspiring japanese manga comics. Its very important to choose the right comics to read as it will influence the belief system also. If you keep on reading comics that is showing that rich people are always the crooks, your sub-conscious mind will have the same kind of belief. I prefer to read comics that are inspiring and people who are chasing after their dreams. You will see the persistence in the character and the never say die attitude in them. Therefore, if you feel discourage about your future, go through some inspiring japanese manga comics to give you the energy to move forward and do not worry whether you may have language issue as japanese manga comics is normally translated into different languages. Nothing is impossible to those who are chasing after their dreams and the sky is the limit.

Here is one of the website which allows you to read japanese manga online:

Top 10 Rocky Balboa Inspiring Quotes

Posted by JavierChua in

rocky_balboa_posters

2 weeks ago, I attended the Unleash the Power Within Seminar conducted by Tony Robbins and was introduced a movie character named Rocky Balboa during the seminar. I have heard of the name Rocky before I attend the seminar but I did not really bother to find the movie. I nearly forgot to find the movie until last week when I saw a blog post by one of my mentor, Anik Singal that caught my attention once again to go find the movie. Luckily, my colleague had the whole series of Rocky Balboa from I to VI and I borrowed the movies from him to watch it. Manz, it’s a great movie that I think whoever wants to learn about life and facing fear must watch it.

I will be sharing with you the top 10 inspiring quotes that I love from Rocky Balboa movies and hope you can learn something from them too.

Let’s start with the most inspiration quotes that I love the most:

1. Rocky Balboa VI: Then the time come for you to be your own man and take on the world, and you did. But somewhere along the line, you changed. You stopped being you. You let people stick a finger in your face and tell you you’re no good. And when things got hard, you started looking for something to blame, like a big shadow. Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!

Are You Growing or Dying?

Posted by JavierChua in

growing_or_dying

Have you heard of this sentence before: “If you are not growing, you will be dying?”. This sentence of words were deeply rooted into my mind when T.Harv Eker mentioned it during his Millionaire Mind Intensive (MMI) seminar last year. I’m really excited that I have grown quite a far bit as I found that I have a clearer mind of what I want in life now compared to the past 22 years of my life.

At the same time, I’m glad that I am learning and trying out new stuff that I have not heard or seen previously. It is very important that we are growing ourselves by learning new things or doing things that we have not tried in our lives before as this give us a whole new experience.

Recently, I have attended a workshop about a new email system that is going to be implemented into my working environment. I’m working in a primary school and the new system is going to be implemented across all the schools in Singapore. The great part about the new email system is that it is going to use the platform of Google and a lot of things can be done in a more efficient matter compared to the past. However, most of the schools feedback that it is hard for them to teach the older generation teachers on how to use the new upcoming system and I suddenly realize that what T.Harv Eker mentioned during his MMI is true. If you stop growing, you will be dying as no matter whether you are working for others or having your own business. If you stop yourself from learning new upcoming technology or information, you will definitely be in the losing end and thus you will not be able to catch up with the crowd that is always learning and growing.

The main issue with learning new things is actually our internal fear that we have to face. If we keep an open mindset, learning will always be fun and happening as more opportunities will be appearing in every corner of our lives. Start growing yourself and live life with passion.

Cheers

Trade a Book Through BookMooch

Posted by JavierChua in

trade_a_book

Do you have books that are lying on your bookshelf that you want to get rid of? There is a website where you can place your unwanted books for others to get and you gain the points for yourself to get the books that you want instead.

This website is called bookmooch.com where you can trade a book through the online portal with other people across the world. What you need to do is register for a free account and start placing books in your inventory for others to get. For 1 book that you put in your inventory, you gained 0.1 points and you need to accumulate at least 1 point in order to get a book from someone in your local area. You can check out the site to see how the points system works as the main thing in this post is not telling you how the system works but how bookmooch has benefited me through my journey of success.

I have started using bookmooch since my army days about 2 years ago as it was introduced to me one night through my army friend who was doing guard duty with me. The concept of getting books you want while giving away books that you do not want seems great for me as I seldom buy books due to the price of some books. The first book that I have mooched was actually called Rich Dad Poor Dad.

Rich Dad Poor Dad was written by the author, Robert Kiyosaki, who talks about the lives of his two dads (one rich – his friend’s dad and another poor – his real dad) and their teachings that have passed down to him. This was the first book that have opened up my mindset towards financial freedom and it was a MUST read book for anyone who are seeking for freedom in their lives. I have mooched a few good books from bookmooch and if you are interested to connect with me on bookmooch, just look for Javier Chua when you have joined the portal.

Hope I have shared a good site with everyone and remember in order to keep on growing yourself, you have to keep learning through reading books written by successful people as you will find a lot of gems within each books.

Cheers

My First Coaching Call With Greg Cesar

Posted by JavierChua in

Last night was a magnificent night for me as I started my first 1-on-1 coaching call with Greg Cesar, the Great Google Czar. There were so many things that I have issues with, seems not a problem to my coach at all. It’s really cool to have a coach who can guide you along when you faced any difficulties during your journey to make things successful for yourself.

2 Important Tips Before a Coaching Call:

– Prepare beforehand the set of questions you want to ask your coach and send a copy to your coach before the coaching call

– Make sure either you or your coach record down the coaching session as this allows you to replay the whole session and note down the ideas given by your coach. Sometimes, you may miss out some of the gems while taking down notes and listening at the same time. If you are using Skype, give Pamela for Skype a try as it allows you to record the call session.

It is definitely easier to learn from someone who have already walked the success journey before us so we can avoid making the same mistakes and thus cut short our learning curve. Make sure you find yourself a successful coach if you are trying to get successful in whatever areas. Most successful people will say the same thing: “Learn from the outstanding ones in order to get outstanding results and you do not need to reinvent the wheel.”

Okay, now what’s next for me is take the actions and keep my momentum going. More adventure and great stuff will be attracted so let’s wait and see 🙂

Cheers

Is Your Food Giving You The Energy You Need?

Posted by JavierChua in

This film was introduced by Tony Robbins during his Unleash The Power Within seminar and I managed to catch it on youtube. This film was exactly taken by Morgan Spurlock who went on a quest to eat MacDonald for all his meals throughout a period of 30 days. This is a must watch film as it will kick your mindset to start thinking of whether the food that you are eating in the past or even right now are good for you in the long run. Morgan Spurlock had really risked his life to get everyone to notice what is actually going wrong with our health issue. If you are really curious why you will easily get depressed or feel tired easily, go through the food that you have been eating and see whether they are junk food or food with high nutrition value.

Here’s the trailer for you to check out:

Here the link to the whole film : Morgan Spurlock Super Size Me
